The Art of Romare Bearden
Year: 2004
Objective: Design a book Jacket + inner sleeves, end pages, intro page, table of contents, chapter opener, and two spreads for a book named The Art of Romare Bearden.
Solution: I designed the book with a stack of cropped 11 x 17 copy paper and cover board. I inserted the pages as well as wraped the cover with the book jacket. The cover design plays with typography to show Romare's collage-like approach to his craft. I wanted the over-all look and feel to be clean and presentable being that it was produced by the National Gallery of Art.
Class: Book Design I
Project Length: One month
Dimentions: W.16in x H.12in
Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
Materials: Copy paper, cover board, matte knife, glue, 3 nails, ink
